Welcome in, Y'all!
This year's theme, "Adulting Ain't Easy," resonates deeply with the White Center CDA's journey of growth, capturing the intricate path we've traveled. At the same time we honor and celebrate Sili Savusa for her ten years of profound service as the White Center CDA's Executive Director (2013 - 2023), and pillar of the White Center community.
As we reach our 21st milestone, we pause to contemplate the hurdles we've conquered and the profound transformations we are undergoing. Like a young adult forging their path, we're boldly venturing into the future, driven by resilience and an unwavering spirit!
Message from the White Center CDA Board of Directors:
It is with excitement that we announce Sili Savusa, the Executive Director of the White Center Community Development Association (White Center CDA, the CDA), will be leaving the CDA to lead the Pacific Islander Community Association of Washington. Sili has been our fierce and loyal leader for the past decade, and is well-loved by the Board, staff, and community. “It is bittersweet to see her leave the CDA, but at the same time, we are also excited about what great work she will continue to do in her next endeavor," said KaLehua KaApana Faletogo, White Center CDA’s Board President.
The Board is thrilled to announce that Aaron Garcia has stepped up as our Interim Executive Director. Aaron’s love and commitment to the White Center community has not gone unnoticed. With his continued work on the White Center H.U.B. project and his many years working with the CDA, this was an easy decision for us to make.
We are transforming the White Center CDA’s annual fundraiser into a celebration of Sili’s contributions to the organization and Aaron’s transition into his new role. Join us on October 6, 2023, and be a part of the festivities!
